Diesel x LOOK ME IN THE EYES

Inspired by Marina Abramovich’s exhibition performance The Artist is Present, which was displayed in 2010 at the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York. Abromovich uses her body as a means of communication and she argued that the world is moving fast and people barely have time for themselves and their surroundings. By sitting and watching the people in front of her she managed to reach and mentally touch the people in front of her.

I decided to examine these questions and prepare a performance I called: Look me in the eyes. The decision to place a bed in the heart of the square was not accidental. A bed is a very intimate piece of furniture and we will not invite strangers into it. Placing it in such a central location in Tel Aviv was interesting.

Linking the insights from the performance and the fashion design was challenging. I noticed that after people lay on the bed they left creases and wrinkles on the bedding. This phenomenon interested me.
